What to Expect
Welcome to the ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS GUIDE TO CAD WITH FUSION course!
This course was designed for the user who is brand new to Fusion, CAD, or both.
This course has received an update to handle the changes in Autodesk Fusion as of January 2026. All the legacy content is still valid for the Hybrid Design workflow, so with the update we decided to focus our attention on the updated workflow and offering brand new content rather than just updating what we have.
The video below will explain some of the changes that have come to Fusion and talk about the direction for the update.
The updated content focuses on introducing the basics of CAD using sketches, extrudes and revolves. We look at modeling from a detailed drawing. Then we focus on practicing and learning new skills by creating a suspension link and a camp light and even creating some rendered images. We finish up by creating detailed drawings of the parts we modeled from drawing earlier in the course.
In the legacy content we will walk through the fundamentals required for CAD design. Learn how to fully define 2D sketches, create and modify solid bodies, explore direct modeling, detailed drawing creation and even expand into simulation and manufacturing.
If you are just getting started on your CAD journey this is a great place to start and build your future skills!
This course is comprised of just over 2 hours of video instruction in the Legacy Content and we added another 3hrs of video instruction to the update explaining everything along the way!
Please be sure to leave a review/comment and let us know how you liked the course and if you have any problems along the way.
